The Educator’s Digital Toolbox: 10 Fundamental Tools of the Trade
As schools open their doors and students open their minds to another year of learning, we as educators are inspired by the possibilities of a clean slate and a fresh perspective. As you begin to construct new learning opportunities for your classroom, it’s important to evaluate the role of technology. We know it has the power to differentiate and empower learner-led instruction. But, where do we begin?
First, remember the golden rule of technology – Let the task determine the tech! Technology should enhance learning and provide students voice and choice as they demonstrate understanding. What it shouldn’t do is serve as an afterthought or disconnected addition to your instructional goals. It’s okay if you don’t get it right the first time, which leads us to the second rule – fail forward! Don’t hesitate to try something new just because you aren’t at a mastery level. Mastery only comes with practice!
