OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH TACKK!
Reflect with me for a moment to days in your classroom when students are giving presentations….ALL DAY! Each a similar progression of slides presented by students anxious about speaking in front of their peers. Do you find yourself wishing students were more focused on content than how a slide will zoom, flip, or fade in? Or worse, reaching for that next cup of coffee to keep the eyelids open?
Think about the time you wanted to create a visually engaging newsletter for parents or a class website but pushed that thought aside knowing you didn’t have ample time to learn the special design and technical skills required.
Let me share with you my new favorite tool for creating, connecting, and collaborating….Tackk. And before you ask, the answer is YES. Yes, it’s free. Yes, it’s easy! If I can do it, so can you!
To get started, simply visit Tackk.com on any device and create a free account.
Click on the green pencil.
Select a ready made template or blank canvas.
Click on any icon in the widget bar to add content including: headlines, text, photos, videos, audio, buttons, maps, media and more!
Once content is added, customizing your Tackk is easy using the menu on the right-hand side. The beauty is that it is limited to just a few fonts and colors (which will keep students focused on content, not the “show”).
Finally, share your Tackk to various social media sites, embed in your LMS, grab the URL, or print.
I can’t wait to hear your implementation ideas but I’ll leave you with a few of my own:
- Student created web pages
- research reports including multiple forms of media
- timelines
- digital flyers
- lab reports
- book analysis
- philanthropy projects / cause awareness
- genre projects
- geometry proofs
- blogging
- student feedback and collaboration using comment stream
- current events
- field trip reports
Enjoy engaging students and sparking creativity in the classroom with Tackk!
